Jason Edward Spice (born 7 December 1974) is a New Zealand international rugby union player. His position of choice is as a scrum-half.
Spice was born in Matamata. He is a former New Zealand cricketer who played for the Northern Districts Knights and the All Blacks in rugby. He also played for Hamilton in the Hawke Cup.
Spice joined Bristol RFC from the Cardiff Blues in May 2009. He was a very good signing for Bristol Rugby because as well as playing hi regular position of scrum half he can also cover at fly half as he showed while the Ospreys were struggling with injuries andf international call-ups in that position. In June 2010, Spice bought out the remainder of his contract with Bristol Rugby after it was announced that Bristol were asking their players to take a 50% pay cut following their failure to regain promotion to the Aviva Premiership. he has now move to Launceston Rugby Club on a game by game basis (Ryan Furse). He will join Bay of Plenty Steamers for the 2011 ITM Cup.[2]
